The 60^th meeting of the CIS Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification was held in Yerevan.

At the invitation of Albert Babayan, Director of the National Body for Standards and Metrology of the Republic of Armenia, on December 8-9, 2021, the 60th meeting of the Interstate Council (ISC) for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the Commonwealth of Independence States (CIS) was held in Yerevan in a hybrid format.

The meeting was held by the chairman of the ISC CIS Albert Babayan. During the two-day session, more than 20 issues aimed at improving the activities in the fields of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation were discussed, aimed at improving product quality and competitiveness, solving urgent issues of strengthening scientific-technical and trade-economic ties. Technical regulation of works carried out in the CIS member states, ensuring uniformity of measurements, adoption and cancellation of interstate standardization documents.

The members of the council were able to ensure the implementation of the actions envisaged in the action plan for the Implementation until 2030 development strategy of the Interstate Council, according to the established schedule.

During the session, the prospects of ISC and ISO cooperation were discussed. The policy of involvement in ISO as a regional standardization organization, the draft action plan for 2022-2025, the implementation of the CIS Electricity Council and CIS ISC cooperation agreement.

On the second day of the event, the jury of the 2021 CIS Award, a competition for achievements in the field of quality of goods and services, met. The topics of the participants who passed the final stage were discussed. Based on the results of the expert evaluations, the minutes of the competition jury session were drawn up. The draft decision on the laureates of the competition will be sent to the CIS Executive Committee for submission to the CIS Economic Council

A decision was also made to conclude bilateral cooperation agreements in the field of standardization with the associations representing the business circles of the CIS member states, in particular, on financing the development of standards, involvement in the development process.
