The Annual Meeting and 44th Assembly of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was held in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) 2022 from September 19 to 23. Delegations of more than 120 countries, including the delegation of "National Body for Standards and Metrology" CJSC of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, as a full member of ISO, participated in the mentioned events.
The main themes of the events focused on tackling global issues and finding solutions to the world's most urgent challenges including climate action, sustainability, water scarcity and energy. The International Organization for Standardization has a crucial and long-term role in the development of sustainable economic development, global industrial ecosystem and in enhancing trade in local, regional and global markets.
During the ISO Annual Meeting, elections were held for ISO President, Vice President and Council members.
During the bilateral meeting, Albert Babayan, Director of "National Body for Standards and Metrology" CJSC of the Republic of Armenia, and Mahdi Eslampanah, Director of the National Organization of Standardization of Iran, discussed the possibility of deepening cooperation between the organizations, including the exchange of experience, as well as the practical support of the Iranian side during the introduction of the process of "halal" certification of products and services in "National Body for Standards and Metrology" CJSC.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue working in the direction of signing a memorandum of cooperation in the specified areas.
